The Telegram's sports editor, Robin Short, will be in Vancouver during the 17 days of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, reporting for Transcontinental Media.
Short will be writing for nine Transcontinental daily newspapers and The Hockey News while in Vancouver.
This is Short's second Winter Olympic Games, having covered the 2006 Torino Olympics where the Brad Gushue team from St. John's won curling gold.
In addition to providing daily colour stories and features, Short will pen a blog from Vancouver - Olympic postcard - which can be found at www.thetelegram.com.
Look for Olympic coverage beginning Friday in Transcontinental's daily newspapers.

Is this a media assignment or is Short going on his own dime? If it's an assignment, doesn't The Telegram have anyone on staff who likes sports or at least knows something about them? If they do, they should have sent him/her instead of Short.

Hopefully he'll do a better job at the Olympics than he's doing with the local townie sports scene....the money must be good as this event is happening far west of the overpass.
