Firefighters in St. John's put out an odd electrical fire at an east end home this afternoon.
A woman was home when the fire broke out at the back of the house, but got out before fire crews arrived.
The electrical feeder wires that bring current to the house caught on fire and burned through the pipe carrying them into the house.
The wires burned down to the meter box.
Crews had to wait for Newfoundland Power workers to get to the scene and cut power to the home before cutting into the siding and back wall of the home to douse the fire.
There was no damage to the interior of the house.
