"Guests of the Gallery" is an exciting and diverse exhibition featuring the works of seven up-and-coming artists working in various media. Join us at The Leyton Gallery of Fine Art, on Clift's-Baird's Cove, off Water Street. Opening today from 3-5 p.m. Closes April 25.

The Salmonid Association of Eastern Newfoundland (SAEN) will offer fly rod building on Sunday afternoons from 1-3 p.m. Call the office for details at 722-9300.

Monday, April 5

Sleep Out 120 runs April 5-10. Participants commit to living "homeless" on the streets of downtown St. John's to raise awareness of youth homelessness and raise funds for Choices for Youth. Donations to the campaign can be made at Choices for Youth (16 Carter's Hill Pl.), online at www.choicesforyouth.ca/ donate.html, to campaign participants, or at campaign donation booths throughout St. John's. Tuesday, April 6

St. Mary's Church ACW will hold a dessert party at 1 p.m. in the church auditorium off Craigmillar Avenue. Cost: $10 at the door. Diabetic desserts will be available. Auction and bridge. Come along and bring a friend.

Easter Break at the A.C. Hunter Children's Library in the Arts and Culture Centre Wednesday, April 7 to Friday, April 10. Free, fun programs include: The Diary of a Wimpy Kid Challenge (for children 9 and older), Hands on Felting Fun with local expert Bonnie Johnston (for 7 to 9 year olds) plus storytimes, crafts. Space is limited. Call 737-3953 to register.

Thursday, April 8

The St. John's Public Libraries and the Provincial Resource Library will host a reading by poet Antony Christie from 7-8 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the A.C. Hunter Public Library, in the St. John's Arts and Culture Centre. For more information about Antony Christie and his writings, visit www.breakwaterbooks.com.
