Police in Carmanville are looking for a man who has exposed himself several times.
On Wednesday a driver noticed a man standing on the side of the road in Victoria Cove near the cemetery. The driver noticed the man had his pants down and was masturbating. The driver went on and called police. A patrol was made, but officers didn't find anyone.
On Friday around 7 p.m. police received a similar call about a man with his pants down fondling himself on the side of the road in Victoria Cove near the cemetery.
The second driver stopped, got out of the car and confronted the man, but he ran off into the woods. The driver got back into his car and drove away, but on his way back across the same road about an hour later, he saw the same man standing naked on the side of the road.
The driver confronted the man, who was again masturbating. He stopped and ran off into the woods.
The driver then called police.
An officer responded and had police dog services come to the area to help in the search, but still the man was not found.
However, there were several items left behind and officers have released a description of the man.
Police found a black, older model mountain bike in the area that's believed to belong to the man.
The man is in his late 30s and about six feet tall. He's "scruffy looking" and was wearing blue jeans.
Local residents are unsure who the man is, but it's believed he may have been riding the bike around the communities of Gander Bay North area over the past week.
As well, officers are asking that anyone with information about the incidents come forward to the Carmanville detachment or to contact Crime Stoppers.
