Tentative agreement reached for employees of nursing and home support agency

The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) announced today it has negotiated a tentative collective agreement for Tender Loving Care Nursing and Home Support.
The union says there are 340 employees working with the agency in St. John's, Stephenville, Corner Brook, Port aux Basques, Rocky Harbour and Grand Falls-Windsor.
According to NAPE President Carol Furlong, "this is the 13th recently negotiated settlement between NAPE and home-care agencies and we look forward to concluding the remainder of the agreements."
The tentative agreement consists of wage increases, improvements in benefits and contract language.
Meetings to conduct the ratification vote will take place at 7 p.m. on each of the following dates: July 14, Comfort Inn Airport, St. John's and at the Holiday Inn, Stephenville; July 15, NAPE Office, 10 Main St., Corner Brook; July 19 Hotel Port aux Basques; July 20 Ocean View Motel, Rocky Harbour; July 21 NAPE Office, 15 Hardy Avenue, Grand Falls-Windsor.
