The 33rd Teddy Bear Picnic - cancelled earlier this summer due to bad weather - is on again, the Teddy Bear Man Terry Rielly announced today.
The event will be held Saturday, July 24, starting at 11 a.m. at the toboggan hill near the Fluvarium in Pippy Park in St. John's.
"We are ready for people, teddy bears, and their blankets," Rielly said.
The event will have storytelling, a crafts display by the Native Friendship Centre and a Teddy Bear Hospital. At noon, Terry and his bears will take to the stage for an hour of fun-filled music.
Rielly, 60, describes himself now as a "Poppy Bear" with three grandchildren of his own.
"This is one of those rare occasions where families can attend a fun time together that doesn't cost anything to get into," he said.
