The Inuit community of Rigolet has a new AngajukKÂk.
Charlotte Wolfrey was elected to the mayor/CEO position as the result of a Thursday byelection. The byelection was called following the resignation of Daniel Michelin in January.
As a part of her new responsibilities Wolfrey will represent Rigolet in the Nunatsiavut Assembly.
Nunatsiavut President Jim Lyall says he looks forward to working with Wolfrey in a press release sent out this week.
"Charlotte has always been a strong advocate for her community and for all beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement," Lyall is quoted as saying. "I am confident she will bring plenty of enthusiasm to the table and will make a valuable contribution to the Nunatsiavut Government."
Wolfrey will be officially sworn in as a member of the Nunatsiavut Assembly in May.
