Clarenville, NL -
The Telegram Herder Memorial Trophy Championship Series is going back to St. John's tied at one game apiece.
The CeeBees took a 3-1 lead into the final period of play and widened the margin on a goal by Chris Sparkes, from Mike Dyke, near the ten minute mark. The pair worked a give and go with Dyke passing to a Sparkes in front of the net who popped it past Churchill.
Freddy Diamond provided heroics the rest of the way as he stopped a game high 41 shots against, standing on his head at many points in the game.
Final shots against were 42-34 in favour of the Caribous, 25 coming in the second period alone.
Games 3, 4 and 5 of the Herder go Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Mile One Centre in St. John's.
