Roxon earns silver medal

Kippens native Katarina Roxon captured a silver medal at the 2013 IPC World Swimming Championships Thursday in Montreal.
Roxon, along with her relay teammates Aurelie Rivard, Morgan Bird and Brianna Nelson set the mark in the 4x100- metre freestyle relay.

They won in a new Canadian record time of 4:35.41. The previous record was set at the 2000 Paralympic Games with a time of 4:38.01.

She also placed fourth in the 100m breaststroke with a new Canadian record time of 1:25.21.
