Really, are you kidding? Get a life. If it is in the Olympics, it is a sport and Newfoundlanders happen to excel in it!

Please do not tell me Katherine Quackenbush is even nominated. This is a FARCE, She lists Halifax, Nova Scotia as her home and was only in St. John's to go to MUN. She should receive an award from MUN but NOT St. John's Athlete of the Year . or like last year won the Provincial Athlete of the Year award. What about our Tax paying citizens people who actually live and pay taxes (or their parents pay taxes) these are the people who should be up for the award. Any comments here

Katherine gave 5 years to MUN in sports as well as academics. Not only that, she was very involved in volunteer work and tried hard to get accepted to Med. school there. She was accepted to Dal. and that is where she is at present. She loved this province and still commutes here for visits. Please don't be so judgemental!

As an CFA, I cannot believe that no one from RUGBY had any award ??? The most promising successful sport on the ROCK. Wake up St. Johns, look around you & promote & encourage national recognition.
