Haiti Event Spotlight

Today, Jan. 28

Hearts for Haiti, a local fundraising group spearheaded by Spirit of Newfoundland Productions, presents a five-night festival of music, comedy, cabaret, dance, art and film and a silent auction to raise funds for our neighbours in Haiti struck by disaster. Until Jan. 31, the Masonic Temple at 6 Cathedral St. opens its doors to all those who feel the need to simply help. Tickets are $10 available by calling 579-3023 and can be purchased at the door. All proceeds will go to the Red Cross in aid of the Haiti Disaster Fund. Thursday, Jan. 28 - Stucco in the '80s Dinner & Show. A special fundraiser presented by Spirit of Newfoundland Productions. Doors open 6:30 p.m.

"In Heels For Haiti," at Zone216, Friday, Jan. 29 at 11 p.m. No cover, but there will be a donation box at the door.

sHeavy with The Potholes and Two Guitars Clash, 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29 at Distortion. Proceeds to the Red Cross fund for Haiti relief.

In response to the crisis in Haiti, George Street United Church will have a ham, scallop potato and bean dinner Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. (Takeouts 5:30 p.m.) Tickets $15. Additional donations to the cause will be receipted upon request. Call the Church Office at 726-8775 to reserve tickets or for more information.
