The Newfoundland and Labrador Police Curling Association held its 18th annual Children’s Charity Benefit Hockey Game Thursday night, April 4, 2013 at Mile One Centre in St. John’s. The NL Autism Society, the NL Tourette Syndrome Foundation and the NL Lion’s Quest School Program were the recipients from this year’s fundraising campaign — receiving donations of $2,500 each. The police hockey team, made up of members of the RCMP and RNC, took on the NL Celebrity All Stars made up of members of the media in the St. John’s area and media alumni — plus two star pickups this year in the way of former NHLers Guy Carbonneau and Gaston Gingras.
