OTTAWA, ONT. - Do you have a Note 7?

Samsung Electronics Canada issued a recall Sept. 12 on three models of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone because of an overheating battery that poses a burn- and fire-hazard.

Note 7 owners can register for an exchange at the Samsung Canada website.

One report has been received by Health Canada of an overheating battery, but no injuries were reported to the agency.

“ Consumers should immediately power down the recalled Samsung Note7 smartphone and register as soon as possible for a replacement product,” Health Canada’s notice says.

Samsung sold approximately 21,900 of the recalled phones in Canada between Aug. 19 and Sept. 1.

The affected models are SMN930WK64, SMN930WS64 and SMN930WS64. The phones came in black, blue and silver.
