“I have to say it’s service. And along with this exemplary service, we create apparel that becomes a source of pride to the owner of the garment. We have been building on this kind of valued policy for more than half a century.”
What brands do you carry?
“In addition to our own ‘Always in Vogue’ (AVI) brand, we carry Mallia cashmere clothing. That is a world-renowned name in apparel.”
What inspires you to be the best in your field?
“We have always taken pride in our customizing – we’ve been offering the service for over 40 years. We put our customers in coats and jackets made only for them. We take exacting measurements and then design and create the item here at our St. John’s store. It’s fair to say each of us is proud of what we make.
People are Surprised to know
That all our seal products are made in-house. Also … that we launched our business in Sydney, Cape Breton back in 1964. We have been based here in St. John’s some 33 years and we have a store in Moncton. We have grown to embrace more customers much farther afield too, with a store in Shenyang, a city of over 8 million people in China. Customers’ measurements are conveyed to us here in St. John’s where we tailor-make our coats and jackets. We do repairs and cleaning too, and we have a vault where we can store furs in the off-season.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Making quality fur items for my little girl! Presley is not yet two but she already has a wardrobe of custom-fitted items.
