One of the many businesses forced out of Churchill Square as a result of damage from last March’s major windstorm is celebrating the grand re-opening of its gift shop in the commercial area this weekend and doing so with a touch of philanthropy.

By Sharpe Design, now located at 173 Elizabeth Avenue and just a few steps around the corner from its former home in the square, has teamed up with local makers and Pink Days in Bloom for a fundraiser in support of the Canadian Cancer Society’s Newfoundland chapter.

The company, which started as an event décor business 10 years ago and has grown to become a full-service gift and décor shop, will donate 25 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of their fresh pink garden rose arrangements.

As part of the fundraiser, makers from Petal Jewellery and Driven to Ink, have committed to donate 25 per cent of proceeds from the sale of their handmade accessories and greeting cards to the cause.

The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
