Former Muskrat Falls deputy project manager Robert Woolgar has been hired as Stantec’s senior hydropower engineer.

Woolgar, a graduate of Memorial University’s civil engineering program and a native of Conception Bay South, has more than 20 years of experience in river management, ice dynamics, dam safety, energy planning and hydraulic studies, as well as managing and building with groups of engineers.

With Stantec, Woolgar will work for the professional services company’s waterpower and dams sector.

“Our clients want to work with consultants who have hands-on experience in planning and executing projects, and Robert’s new position in St. John’s will allow us to meet those requirements,” David Rupay, Stantec’s WaterPower and Dams business sector lead for Canada, stated in a news release.
