Home Depot is holding a hiring blitz. This is the store in St. John's March 21, 2016.

It is part of a plan for 170 new hires Atlantic Canada this spring and, according to a spokeswoman for the company, that’s par for the course around this time of year, for at least the last few years.

The company’s “busy season” kicks in around May, so new hires will be sought out this week and then given time for training.

Home Depot is looking for full-time, part-time and seasonal associates, with plans for a job fair at 70 Kelsey Drive on Wednesday, March 23 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

It is one of nine job fairs planned in the region, with 400 set for across Canada, according to information released by the company Monday.
