Earlier this week, MUN president Gary Kachanoski accepted the recommendation from the board of regents to appoint Isabelle Dostaler for a five-year term.

Dostaler is a professor of management in the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University and serves as the school’s Aviation Think Tank academic director. She is also the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation director for the business school.

She has previously held academic positions at Laval University, Sherbrooke University, the University of Montreal and HEC Montreal, where she obtained a master of science degree in management and a bachelor of business administration. Dostaler’s PhD was acquired at the University of Cambridge.

Dostaler’s areas of expertise are in aviation and aerospace management, new product development, strategy and supplier-buyer relationships.

“Dr. Dostaler is a highly experienced authority in her field, and a seasoned educator with significant experience in academic administration in a large public institution,” Noreen Golfman, MUN provost and vice-president (academic), stated in a news release.

Dostaler will replace outgoing dean Wilfred Zerbe.
