There’s about two weeks left for employment insurance eligible individuals to avail of close to $2 million in funding remaining through the provincial job creation partnerships program.
The deadline to submit an application is Friday, Sept. 28.
The goal of the program is to support job creation and economic growth by providing opportunities for eligible participants to improve their employability through work experience on projects benefitting their communities.
The 197 projects already approved this fiscal year — totalling $8.6 million of the $10.5 million allocated in the 2018 budget — include repairs to a slipway and warehouse in Port Rexton, the expansion of a community garden in Channel-Port Aux Basques, and the hiring of a technical/maintenance person for Happy Valley-Goose Bay’s Lawrence O’Brien Arts Centre.
