GANDER, NL – The provincial government has made the report of independent mediator John Roll on the labour dispute between DJ Composites and its Gander employees represented by Unifor Local 597 available online.

Advanced Education, Skills and Labour Minister Al Hawkins appointed Roil in October to try to find a resolution to the now year-old lockout.

The report has been reviewed by the department and provided to both Unifor and DJ Composites.

“Conciliation services in this matter were provided by the department beginning in August 2016. The appointment of Mr. Roil was an additional effort to resolve the dispute,” Hawkins noted in a news release Friday, Dec. 8.

“It is unfortunate that a resolution was not reached. As committed previously, the report of the mediator is now available to the public. We continue to monitor the situation and the parties have been advised that our services remain available to them if they wish to use them.”

The report can be viewed on the provincial government’s website at www.aesl.gov.nl.ca/labour/union.
