After a shade more than four years in operation, O’Leva Olive Oils and Vinegars is shutting down.

The locally owned and operated specialty grocery store that specializes in single varietal extra virgin and flavoured olive oils as well as artisan balsamic vinegar announced on its Facebook page that it will close its doors for good on Jan. 28.

“Thank you to all of the customers, vendors, and friends that have made these past few years the truly wonderful experience it has been,” the company wrote.

O’Leva was launched in November 2013 by sisters-in-law Jennifer Pardy and Cheryl Pardy.
In the fall of 2015, the company moved from its inaugural home in the former Canadian Tire building on Topsail Road to a new location on Torbay Road near Stavanger Drive, where they hoped to capitalize on the area’s shopping traffic.

A move to downtown was considered, but ultimately abandoned.

As part of the closure, O’Leva is offering a small discount on all pantry items and select oils and vinegars.

Cheryl Pardy, when contacted, declined comment on the decision to close.
