NORTHERN PENINSULA, NL – White Metal Resources Inc. rock samples has returned more gold and silver on the tip of the Northern Peninsula.

The results came from a sampling in an area that covers from south of St. Lunaire-Griquet to Quirpon Island.

Michael Stares, president and CEO of White Metal, told the Northern Pen that the return was strong enough to make the company interested in continuing work in the region.

“It’s very interesting and we’ll probably have to do some more work to determine what the size of it is,” he said. “There’s a whole major of work yet to be done there yet.”

He emphasizes the research is still in its “very early” stages.

White Metal, an Ontario company, had previously yielded gold on their Gunner Cove Property near Straitsview.

They then collected additional samples across the rest of their holdings.

A chemical analysis was subsequently conducted and now the results are being released.

In a Nov. 20 press release, White Metal revealed that the assay results from 156 rock samples returned quantities of gold.

It states that, “Approximately 50% of the grab samples, collected in the Gunners Cove area assayed 100 parts per billion (gold) (0.1 g/t gold) or greater, with a maximum of 2.14 g/t (gold).”

G/T means grams per tonne.

The statement continues, “The Company is very pleased with the results to date.”

More research is expected.

In an earlier press release, it was stated that sampling on the Gunners Cove Property had previously “returned values as high as 5.86 grams per tonne gold, 8.0 grams per tonne silver, 0.13% copper, and 375 ppm molybdenum.”
