Wings for an Angel is a provincewide butterfly release, hosted by The Dream Fund. On Saturday participants around the province released a butterfly in honour of someone in their life (past or present) for a $20 donation.

Donors release their butterfly by hand, which organizers say is a very intimate and personal experience. In some cases the butterfly was released on behalf of those unable to attend. Each butterfly was named in honour of up to two people. Here, Aurora Walsh , 7, of Mount Pearl, released her butterfly Saturday evening at Bowring Park in St. John’s. Her brother Joshua, 5, not shown, was there to lend a hand. The two are the children of of Jackie and Terry Walsh. All proceeds from Wings for an Angel go to The Dream Fund , which works to make dreams come true for sick children in Newfoundland and Labrador. See photo feature in Monday's Telegram.
