Citizens help police corral drunk driver near Paddy’s Pond

St. John’s, N.L — A group of people in the Paddy’s Pond area took action Friday afternoon to stop an impaired main from driving by boxing in his vehicle until police could arrive.

About 1:15 the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrived and charged the 56-year-old   with impaired driving and failing the Breathalyzer after receiving a call from one of the concerned citizens.

He was arrested, but later released to appear in court at a later date.
