$2.3 million for Thrive's Blue Door program in N.L.

At an event at the NL Housing & Homeless Network in Pleasantville Thursday morning, St. John’s East MP Nick Whelan, announced $2.3-million for Thrive Community Youth Network’s Blue Door program, which supports individuals in exiting the sex trade and/or sexually exploitive situations. The funding comes under the National Crime Prevention Strategy.

The Blue Door program offers individualized services to help people — regardless of gender or sexual orientation — overcome the barriers to exiting sex trade situations with dignity, self-determination and within an environment of respect.
