The Carpenters Union local 579 is a major supporter of Daffodil Place, operated by the Canadian Cancer Society.

In 2016, the union donated $25,000 to replace the washers and dryers at the facility. In 2017, they contributed $20,000 to help offset costs for their members who stay at Daffodil Place.

The board of the Carpenters Union Local 579 decided to continue that support and has donated a further $20,000 this year.

Over a period of four years, the union has donated $70,000 to support Daffodil Place.
