Since 2003, the Relic Riders, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts, have combined their love of two wheels with charitable support for the Canadian Diabetes Association’s children’s camping program. For the past 12 years on the third weekend in July — in Paddy’s Garden, Carbonear — this dedicated group of individuals with steadfast support from family and friends have hosted their annual Show N’ Shine Event. The spirit of togetherness, teamwork and community displayed by this family of diabetes champions is truly inspiring. Recently, members of the Relic Riders presented Morgan Tobin and Brittany Wiseman, Camp Douwanna staffmembers, with a cheque for $6,300, the proceeds from this year’s event. To date the Relic Riders have donated more than $53,000 in support of the association’s work in Newfoundland and Labrador. — Submitted photo
