An employee of the Tim Hortons restaurant on Harvey Road for the past two years, Saliu, 27, was honoured for his academic achievements as well as his community volunteerism with the International Student Ministry, which he does with the West-End Baptist Church on Topsail Road in St. John’s.
Saliu, 27, originally from Nigeria, has entered his fourth and final year of studies in the international bachelor of business administration degree program focusing in the area of Asian and Pacific region studies.
Saliu was presented with his scholarship at the Harvey Road outlet on Aug. 27 by franchise owners and operators Gary and Beverley Burt. The Burts said, “We are delighted to present Nathaniel with the 2014 Team Tim Hortons Scholarship and are proud of his commitment to this community and the desire to pursue post-secondary education, and are happy that Tim Hortons can help Nathaniel fulfil his future goals, and wish him much success.” — Submitted photo
