‘Ted Drover Ships Artist’

Join us for the official launch of Sheilah Mackinnon Drover’s book, “Ted Drover Ships Artist,” at the Railway Coastal Museum. Sheilah will give a brief introduction to her book, with photographic reproductions of Ted Drover’s vessels on display. She will also sign copies, with purchase available on site. Boyd Chubbs will join us on guitar, and light refreshments will be available.

Fluvarium’s Summer Nature Camps

Registration is now open for The Fluvarium’s Summer Nature Camps, designed to capture the interest and the imagination of young campers ages six through 12. Fish on Long Pond, swim at the Aquarena, relax in the forest and explore nature through engaging and thought-provoking programs. Camp cost will be $165 (plus HST) and campers will be provided with a T-shirt. Limited space is available, and some weeks fill fast, so call 754-3474 to register today.

Robert Chafe’s “Isle of Demons” is onstage at the LSPU Hall. The story of Marguerite de Roberval — marooned by her uncle on an island off northern Newfoundland in 1542 for daring to love a sailor. Nevertheless, she persisted. This acclaimed production from Persistence Theatre Company moves to the LSPU Hall after a sold-out September run at the Barbara Barrett Theatre. Starring Marie Jones, Allison Kelly and Evan Mercer, with direction by Alix Reynolds.
