Liz’s Walk will take place along the branch roads of the Northern Peninsula from Sept. 16-25.
Poole has been walking across Newfoundland and Labrador over the past 12 years in memory of his late wife, Liz.
The determined 74-year-old has managed to raise over $140,000, travelling some 2,800 kilometres in the process.

This year, Poole will be passing through towns from St. Anthony to Plum Point, including Roddickton-Bide Arm, Main Brook, Englee, Conche, St. Lunaire-Griquet, Raleigh, St. Barbe, Bird Cove and many more on his trek to raise money and awareness for Diabetes Canada.
Locals are encouraged to come out and join him on his walk.
To receive a pledge sheet, make a donation or look for more information, the public is advised to contact Bob Mesher at 454-5333 or Felicia Chapman at 754-0953 Ext. 21 or at Felicia.chapman@diabetes.ca
50/50 tickets will be available for purchase as well.
