Manitoba musical theatre students take on Newfoundlander roles in YouTube video

In a new video making the rounds on YouTube, students at Winnipeg's Theatre Dance Centre perform as Newfoundlanders in “Welcome to the Rock,” a number from the hit Broadway musical “Come From Away.” They are under the direction of instructor Taylor Gregory.

The video (click here to watch) caught the eye of Kevin Tuerff, one of thousands of Americans stranded in Gander during the events of 9/11 and touched by the community’s kindness.

Tuerff is portrayed in stage in “Come From Away” as character Kevin T.

He shared this video on social media Monday, under the headline “Adorable Alert.”
