MUN student wins ‘Student Leading Change’ scholarship

Memorial University student, Erica Noonan, is a 2017 winner of RBC’s “Student Leading Change” scholarship. She is one of 15 students awarded $10,000 towards their post-secondary tuition for their personal drive and commitment to making the world a better place.

Erica is passionate about changing the misconceptions about people with disabilities in her community. She works with several organizations such as War Amps of Canada, Easter Seals etc., to inspire other people with disabilities and to share insights with health care workers on how to overcome challenges faced by disabled persons. Erica is currently pursuing her nursing degree.

About RBC’s Student Leading Change Scholarship
The RBC Students Leading Change Scholarship selects 15 recipients from across Canada to receive $10,000 towards their education in two categories: Graduating High School or CEGEP, Undergraduate or Graduate Degree or Diploma.

 To qualify for a scholarship, all applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents with a minimum 75 per cent average in their last completed year of study.

The Students Leading Change Scholarship is a part of the larger RBC Future Launch initiative, aimed at helping remove barriers and providing access for young people to learn skills, gain valuable work experience, share knowledge and build resilience for the future of work.
