More than 100,000 vaccinated against H1N1 9
Health Minister Jerome Kennedy estimates the number of people in the province vaccinated against the H1N1 virus to now be between 115,000 and 120,000.
During a media briefing Tuesday at the Confederation Building, the minister said the uptake of the vaccine has been high in all regions of the province this week. (more)

Turning the corner on H1N1
Some positive signs as province deals with flu
There are some signs the province could be turning the corner in dealing with the H1N1 virus, as school absentee rates approach normal levels and vaccinations continue to progress.
Beginning Thursday and Friday, needles will be given to students in Grades 7-9. Next week -assuming the province gets the amount of vaccine it is expecting - vaccinations will start for high-school students. (more)

Overall numbers showing decline, minister says
Health Minister Jerome Kennedy began his media briefing on H1N1 Sunday afternoon by expressing condolences to family and friends of the province's seventh swine flu victim.
Eastern Health said a 29-year-old woman died at one of its facilities Saturday, due to complications related to the H1N1 influenza. The health authority said the patient had underlying medical conditions, but due to patient confidentiality, no further details were released. (more)
