The provincial Liberals have delayed their leadership convention until 2010, officials in the office of Opposition Leader Yvonne Jones have confirmed.
The party was scheduled to choose a leader in October.
Jones took over the party reins following the defeat of former leader Gerry Reid in the 2007 election.
She has signalled an interest in running for the leader’s job when the convention is held.
Jones plans to continue as leader until the convention, officials said, assuming that won’t exclude her from running.
