Police in St. John’s are continuing to investigate an accident that killed two men on Boxing Day and say alcohol was a “major contributing factor,” in the crash.
Officers won’t be releasing the names of the 44-year-old St. John's man or the 40-year-old Goulds man killed in the accident at the request of their families.
Also injured in the accident was a 29-year-old woman who was treated and released from hospital.
Investigators have determined that the three-vehicle collision started when the pick-up truck
being driven by the St. John’s man was travelling south in the north-bound lane of Columbus Drive and collided with the oncoming car being driven by the Goulds man. The second pick-up truck, also travelling north, was being driven by the woman.
