The dates for a preliminary hearing for a man charged with the murder of his estranged wife were set in provincial court in St. John’s this morning.
Raymond Gerald Newman’s preliminary hearing is scheduled to start Feb. 2, 2010, almost two weeks after the third anniversary of the murder.
Chrissy Predham-Newman’s bloody body was found in her basement apartment in Airport Heights on Jan. 21, 2007.
She had been stabbed several times and had her throat slit.
Raymond Gerald Newman was charged with murder in June of this year after a painstaking police investigation which lasted about 2 1/2 years.
