Man charged with breaking in to a tractor trailer

A 27-year-old man from Roddickton on the province’s Northern Peninsula has been charged with breaking into a tractor trailer about 11 p.m. Nov. 1 in Plum Point.
Merchandise stolen from the trailer included tobacco and cigarette tubes valued at $5,500.
The man has also been charged with another theft that occurred in Pond Cove at Thirsty's Bar and Lounge.
The accused is in custody and will have a bail hearing Friday in provincial court in Corner Brook.
The RCMP are still requesting assistance from the public with any information regarding the stolen tobacco. Members of the public are advised to contact their local police detachment or contact Crime Stoppers at 1800-222-TIPS(8477).
