RCMP in Alberta are seeking any information from the public to help solve a case that began one year ago on Nov. 11 when a burnt human body was discovered in the bush off Secondary Highway 858, 25 kilometres north of Lac La Biche in Alberta.
The body still has not been identified, though the medical examiner and RCMP investigators have established the deceased to be a male aged 25 to 55 years.
During this week Crime Stoppers expects to air a re-enactment of the case.
On Nov. 11, 2008, hunters were drawn to the area of a fire in a very sparsely populated area of woodland. Upon arrival, RCMP investigators were able to confirm the fire area contained a human body.
The fire was quickly extinguished and the area secured.
Investigators continue to treat this suspicious death as a homicide investigation and are appealing to the public to come forward with any aspect of detail that may assist in determining who this person is and how his life may have ended.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lac La Biche RCMP at 780 - 623 - 4012 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.tipsubmit.com.
