Hens and roosters most picked items in province from charitable catalogue
The Telegram
Research conducted by international charity World Vision found that, when it comes to charitable giving, Newfoundlanders and Labradorians enjoy the idea of giving hens and a rooster at Christmas time.
Last year, Newfoundland purchased more than 278 hens and a rooster from the World Vision Gift Catalogue to help children and families in developing countries.
“It’s amazing to see how popular some of the World Vision Gift Catalogue items are,” says Mark Miller, regional representative for Newfoundland. “For the past three years Newfoundlanders have picked two hens and a rooster as their gift of choice to honour their loved ones at Christmas.”
With thousands of gifts purchased from the catalogue, Newfoundland residents have picked everything from warm clothes for children to goats, emergency nutrition kits and school supplies.
With a choice of more than 80 unique gift giving ideas, the World Vision Gift Catalogue offers creative gift alternatives for even the most difficult people to buy for on your list.
If you are interested in learning more about how the catalogue works or you would like to purchase a gift, please visit WorldVision.ca/gifts.
