Krysta Rudofsky has resigned from her position as reporter in the newsroom of CBC Here & Now.
She will be taking a new position in the agency world, as the General manager for Wavelight Productions, a division of m5 Marketing Communications.
“I came to CBC three years ago, and I've really loved my time here,” Rudofsky said, in an email exchange. “I've been working as a reporter in the newsroom for the last seven months and I adore the thrill and challenge of daily television. But it felt like time for a change. I was interested in pursuing other things outside of being in front of the camera and the opportunity at Wavelight was very exciting to me.”
Rudofsky said she is looking forward to joining Wavelight and m5, which she describes as “a leading marketing communications firm in Atlantic Canada.” “m5 itself is a bit of a force to be reckoned with in the agency world,” she said. “Guided by its two principals, Gary Wadden and Derek Langdon, m5 has grown to become one of the largest, if not the largest, full service marketing communications agencies in Eastern Canada. Doing more than $25 million in business a year with some 140 staff Atlantic wide, m5 has built its reputation on good insight and very hard work. It’s worked, because most of m5’s clients have remained clients for long periods of time. Several large clients, like General Motors for instance, have been a client for more than a decade. Today the company boasts a large client contingent spanning many sectors (energy, health, tourism, gaming and more) and geographic locations – from Aberdeen to Brampton to Calgary to the Northeastern U.S.”
Yeah, I know, she slipped in a bit of free promotion there. But I don’t mind. Krysta has come a long way from those early days on “Out of the Fog”, and has worked hard every step of the way. She's earned the right to plug her new employer.
“I'm here at CBC next week, and then I start at Wavelight straight away,” Krysta said. “I'll certainly miss the excitement of the newsroom, the late breaking news, and the incredible journalists who work here. But I've been very impressed by the entire m5 group, and I'm looking forward to tackling a new challenge.”
