A new cabinet has been sworn in for Newfoundland and Labrador after Premier Danny Williams’s commanding majority government victory earlier this month.
Many of the premier’s top cabinet ministers are keeping their posts.
Tom Marshall remains as finance minister.
Tom Rideout will continue as deputy premier and fisheries minister, and Health Minister Ross Wiseman keeps his portfolio.
Natural Resources Minister Kathy Dunderdale will also serve as minister in the newly created Forestry Department.
Two rookie politicians — Jerome Kennedy and Patty Pottle — have been named ministers of justice and aboriginal affairs respectively.
Williams won 43 of 47 seats in the Oct. 9 election.
A byelection for another district will be held Nov. 6.
