Late-season salmon run on Campbellton River

CAMPBELLTON, N.L.

NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR

CANADA

The salmon run isn't finished on the Campbellton River just yet.

On the morning of Friday, Sept. 14, locals gathered along the town's bridges to marvel at what they've deemed the latest run of salmon witnessed in the central Newfoundland community in some time.

It was estimated that some 1,000 salmon have holed up at the mouth of the river, waiting for water levels to rise so they can make safe passage through.
