103 Search and Rescue Squadron conducting training in central and western Newfoundland

GANDER, NL – There will be an increased presence of Canadian Armed Forces search and rescue aircraft and technicians in central and western Newfoundland over the next week as 9 Wing Gander’s 103 Search and Rescue Squadron conducts training exercises.

About 60 members from 103 Squadron will be involved in search and survival exercises, both during the day and at night, near Deer Lake and Corner Brook from Feb. 25 to March 2.

According to an announcement from National Defence, it’s part of the 103 Squadron’s annual training cycle and won’t affect operational search and rescue capabilities in the area.
