An alleged member of the Hell’s Angels who was reportedly the target of a murder plot earlier this year was brought to court in St. John’s Friday, though he didn’t actually appear in the courtroom.
The lawyer for Bradley Summers, 27, represented him before the judge as he was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a dangerous weapon, and careless used of a weapon. The weapon in question is alleged to be a handgun, according to court documents.
Summers was also charged with breaking into a home on White Place in Mount Pearl earlier this week, with the intent to commit an offence.
Judge Mark Pike kept the courtroom open for a section of the lunch hour as the charges against Summers were processed. By law, a person must face a judge within 24 hours of their arrest; for Summers, that was shortly before 2:30 Thursday, so time was tight.

Police had responded to a report of trouble involving weapons on White Place on Tuesday afternoon, but no weapons were recovered and no charges laid. Summers was reportedly arrested at a St. John’s business Thursday in connection with that investigation.
Summers has consented to remain in custody until Tuesday, at which time he’s set for a bail hearing.
Summers is well known to police. Five years ago he was arrested in connection with a joint RNC/RCMP investigation into outlaw motorcycle gangs. He, along with Al Potter, was charged with assault and uttering threats.
Potter and Summers were reportedly living in a Hamilton Avenue home that had been firebombed a month prior.
This past May, 26-year-old Dustin Etheridge and 34-year-old John Squires were arrested and charged with conspiring to murder Summers, along with weapons charges related to a loaded handgun. They are still in custody as their case makes its way through the courts.
