Conception Bay South, N.L. — Police responded to the report of an impaired driver around 7:10 pm Saturday in a residential area of Conception Bay South.

A 69-year-old woman was charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer after she failed by over three times the legal limit.

The driver was also issued a summary offence ticket for operating a vehicle with a suspended licence and the vehicle was impounded.

The accused was released to the Health Sciences ambulance department when she requested treatment for an unrelated issue.

She will appear in court at a later date.
