Several City Wide taxi cabs are at Motor Vehicle Registration in Mount Pearl this morning (Tuesday) being inspected by highway enforcement inspectors.
The owner of a large number of city taxis made a proactive move this morning in response to recent roadside inspections.
“They voluntarily asked to have their fleet inspected,” a spokesman for Service NL told The Telegram. “Rather than waiting, Gullivers called and asked to have all their fleet done at once.”
This follows action earlier this month when several taxi cabs were pulled over for inspections in front of the Mile One Centre in St. John's by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and Motor Vehicle Registration inspectors.
