The SS Kyle sits in shallow waters near Riverhead, just south of Harbour Grace. The ship, which was built in 1913, struck an iceberg fifty years ago and was brought to Harbour Grace until its owners could decide if it was worth repairing. The ship broke its moorings during a storm and was blown aground where it sits today. The past fifty years are starting to show on the wreck. The upper wooden and steel decks have started to rot away and some parts have caved in completely. Telegram photographer Keith Gosse used a drone to take a closer look at the wreck this past week.
