Easter Seals NL is hosting its annual winter family carnival on Saturday, Feb. 17.
The event is a day of winter fun that gives families living with a disability the chance to connect with one another.

“This is a chance for families to get together and connect. They can form support networks in a social, fun setting,” said Eileen Bartlett, the Easter Seals NL director of programming.
“This is a time for families to come together and for parents to connect and converse.”

The winter family carnival is made up of fully inclusive activities so the whole family can play together, including crafts, gym activities, a campfire and a trail ride through Pippy Park.

A limited number of accessible sleds are available for the trail ride for families to try.

Bartlett said the event is fully inclusive and is open to anyone wishing to participate.

The 2017 event featured 14 families, and there are already 14 registered for this year’s event and organizers are hoping for more.

A hot lunch will be provided that includes chili/soup, dinner rolls and dessert. Coffee/tea and nutritious snacks will be available throughout the day.
Registration is $5 per person and all family members are welcome to attend.

The event will take place at Easter Seals House, 206 Mt. Scio Rd. in St. John’s from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For more information or to register, call Easter Seals NL at 709-754-1399 or email Eileen Bartlett at [email protected].
