Among those donating to the Christmas food drive Wednesday at the Avalon Mall were two-year-old twins Gabriella and Sofia Wall of St. John’s, who were at the mall with their parents, Jeff Wall and Amanda Russell, to meet Santa Claus for a photo and to make a donation.

The Telegram, in conjunction with Coast 101.1 FM and the Avalon Mall, held their annual festive season Christmas food drive at the Avalon Mall lower level court on Wednesday afternoon.

Several pounds of non-perishable food items, along with cash donations, were dropped off at the event hosted by Telegram staff and Coast’s on-air personality Bill Hart.

The donations will be forwarded to the Community Food Sharing Association in time for Christmas.
