PORT AUX BASQUES, NL – Western Health is advising visitor restrictions are in place at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques.

The restrictions are a result of gastrointestinal illness on Lighthouse Lane, the hospital’s long-term care unit.

The health authority is asking the public to help prevent the spread of infection by washing or sanitizing their hands when entering or exiting any of its facilities.

Anyone with flu-like illness or gastrointestinal symptoms is also asked not to visit any Western Health facilities.

Immediate family members of residents on Lighthouse Lane are asked to contact the unit at (709) 695-4535 for further direction about visitation.
